Clarification regarding inaccurate reports on recruitment

Barrick (Niugini) Limited (“BNL”), majority owner and operator of the Porgera Gold Mine in Papua New Guinea, wishes to clarify that it is NOT currently recruiting for positions at the Porgera Mine, which remains in a Care and Maintenance mode while discussions continue between BNL and the Government of Papua New Guinea regarding future operations at the Mine.

The Company notes that any online or social-media references to current Company recruitment processes are inaccurate, and should not be relied on by the public.

Should an agreement be reached between BNL and the Government of Papua New Guinea regarding the future recommencement of operations at Porgera, any information regarding recruiting processes to be undertaken by BNL, will be published on official BNL and Porgera Joint Venture websites, social-media sites and via Company statements.

The Porgera Gold Mine in Enga Province, Papua New Guinea, is owned by the Porgera Joint Venture (PJV).

It is operated by Barrick (Niugini) Limited (“BNL”) which owns 95 percent participating interest in PJV. The remaining 5% is owned by Mineral Resources Enga (MRE) Limited.
